Tullynascreena Mass Rock

SITUATED ON PRIVATE LAND

Tullynascreena Mass Rock is well sign posted from the main road and can be found along the L-42653. The Mass Rock was fenced off at the time of my visit, but it can be seen clearly from the side of the road for anyone who wishes to visit.

There is an excellent information sign at the site that advises that the name tulach ná scrína means 'field of the shrine' and that the priest, who celebrated Mass in Penal Times, would have travelled from Ballinaglera to Tullynascreena and on to Killery walking along nearby stream to hide his footprints (Kilenummery County Council undated)
